In honour of the Vidal Balaguer family and their ancestral agriculture, this red wine is vinified in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank, allowing for an ideal maceration for 5 weeks. The cap-breaking technique is carried out 3 times a day during alcoholic fermentation for subsequent ageing. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (70% of 225 L and 30% of 500 L) for a further 12 months in the bottle.

The 2022 vintage

The 2022 season brought exceptional warmth, bringing temperature and terrain together. The altitude and richness of the clay-limestone soil favoured an abundant harvest. The fruit reached full ripeness and balance, becoming a treasure ready for cellaring.

Appearance

Deep cherry-red colour with very vivid highlights at the core and great intensity.

Nose

A vivid Mediterranean expression, with aromas of ripe black fruit, balsamic notes, the Valley's scrubland, aromatic herbs and mineral nuances. Dark chocolate.

Palate

Broad and flavourful on entry. Ripe tannins are accompanied by refreshing acidity, leading to an enveloping and elegant finish.

Traditional inland dishes. Large game. Oily fish and even chocolate.
